Coup de coeur strippers, holy horses, Hollywood fantasies & hallucinations, bright hot blazing pink visions au naturel, ultra- colour bombs exploring traditional elements of religion mixed with a sacred belief in falling in total love. Aleide Anna Bezoen marries classic Americana with a beaming decidedly Parisian sensibility.
Dutch-born Bezoen grew up in France where she established a romantic aesthetic deepened after forming a passionate attachment to the City of Angels and its flaming sunsets, which grew into the creative force of the synonymously- named band (Aleide) she co-founded. What started as a passion project transformed into a full-fledged musical venture when Hedi Slimane requested the soundtrack for one of his Saint Laurent shows. Not much later however, Bezoen disengaged from music & focused on her lifelong passion of painting.
In the Aleide universe, the saintly men pray, the naked women somehow remain elegant, never racy, and the horses, well, they seem quite happy too.  Currently Paris- based, she remains deeply inspired by the liberté et l'amour of Gainsbourg and Bardot, the wild Californian coast and the sacred romance of spirituality. She remarks that what she wants to inspire with her work is to have fun, feel good, fall in love forever and ever. In her own words: 'I work from my gut instinct, and that's that I want magic'. And for Bezoen, magic colors the world pink, prefers lovers and palm trees above all else, and casts a clear incessant light as if lit by God himself. One thing comes to mind; un, deux, trois, ooh la la, je vois la vie en rose!
